What software and image formats do you require to edit?
When editing images a software called Photoshop is highly recommended. It contains a lot of features that enable you to edit your images to a professional standard and give them the effect that you had originally wanted but couldn't achieve only with the camera.
Image formats used when inserting an image into Photoshop are usually JPEGs and RAW. A JPEG will show the image however there may have been some editing done by the camera such as sharpening or some added colour, one the hand RAW images will simply be the original image captured with no edit at all.
Crop your images individually and apply a range of colours, shapes, textures and dodge/burning techniques.

Here I have chosen two images which I will put together by having the image of the couple within the photo frame of the other image.
And this is my final image.
I have chosen to make these changes to the image as it gives a sense of creativity and shows something different that can be done when manipulating images.
I decided to use Photoshop on only two of my final five images, as I was happy with the quality and the way the original image came across to a viewer without having to use Photoshop on it.
With this image I wanted the subject to stand out from the background which she does, however I felt that if I adjust the brightness of the image it would brighten her up a bit and draw more attention towards her. I also used the contrast tool to blend the darker colours with the lighter clothing that she is wearing in the image.

I adjusted the brightness and saturation with this image as I thought that the original image was quite dull and grey rather than what I had wanted the image to portray: purity, innocence and mystery.
Here I have taken the spot healing brush tool which enabled me to be able to make any blemishes on the skin of the subject to disappear.

When using Photoshop there is no doubt you will be spending most of your time in front of a computer so it is important to give yourself breaks as working at a computer has been proven to be a main contributor when it comes to neck, shoulder, back or arm pain, as well as with fatigue and eyestrain.
